Joash grew up near La Crete, AB on a grain farm. Growing up in a traditional household, hard work and honesty were always very important. After high school he pursued construction for a couple of years before returning to start his own farm. Initially, he started conventional farming but when an opportunity to try organic arose, he decided to switch to organic. With his new passion for organic crops, combined with his love for marketing, he started to build strong connections with grain buyers all over North America. Eventually his farm couldn’t fulfill the demand so he started buying grain from other local farmers. And from that, Simply Grain was born.

Our goal at Simply Grain is straightforward: to help local farmers get the best value for their organic grain while meeting the needs of buyers who are looking for high quality organic grain. We aim to establish lifelong relationships with both farmers and buyers. We want to make this process as simple and hassle-free as possible by taking care of all the logistics of getting grain from Western Canada to worldwide markets.
